Post-Deployment: Hot Swaps, Hot Spares and Repairs

The world can be harsh to solutions deployed in the field. Inevitably there are accidents, wear & tear, and other problems that occur with ongoing usage. ICM recognizes this and offers Hot Spare and Hot Swap pools to our customers to minimize the downtime experienced with equipment failure. We also offer certified in-house repair work that won't void your warranty.

Hot Swaps
So what do you do when the world is more rugged than your computer? ICM can maintain a swap pool of extra laptops and accessories for your mobile workforce. When a machine fails a return authorization is issued. The down unit is sent to ICM and at the same time a unit from the swap pool, pre-loaded with your corporate image, is sent to your agent in the field. When the failing unit arrives at ICM it is assessed for warranty status, diagnosed, repaired and returned to your swap pool for future use.

Hot Spares
Similar to the hot swap program, in this variation when a machine fails in the field, a loaner machine is sent to the end user. The customer's machine is then diagnosed and repaired and then exchanged back with the user for the loaner machine. In this way the customer ends up with the same machine they were originally assigned. This can be useful for maintaining accurate records of assigned assets.
